Your menstruation phase

facts women's health

Even though it is that time of the month, you acn actually choose to take advantage and embrace your #femininity .

Each phase of our cycle has a different hormonal “makeup” that influences our mind & body.
By me taking advantage of these shifts I know it will have a major impact on my performances and recovery.

When you are on your menstrual phase, also known as your bleeding phase, it means that your hormones levels are low. #estrogen #progesterone #testosterone

See the estrogen as a ray of sunshine, it lifts up your mood, energy level and your confidence.

A bit different from your progesterone that is another “feel-good” hormone because it helps reduce stress and create balance. I like to see it as my #bestfriend helping me to balance my mood, reducing inflammation soothe stress, increase my metabolic rate and my favourite part: #intuition .
Yes when your progesterone levels are on point so is your intuition.
Pretty cool no?!

And yes testosterone isn’t just the #malehormones , we, women have it too. It’s an androgen hormone that contributes to growth and reproduction in both sexes. And of course that’s the one that enhances our libido.

Next time you are in your menstrual phase (different from your bleeding pills of BC buy we can talk about that later) know that all those hormones I just talked about are at their lowest.

Now you understand better why your energy level is low, and also your muscles recover takes longer so it’s not the time to aim for a PR, it’s time to rest and restore.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, the opposite, we should embrace it so we are ready for the next phase of our cycle: the follicular phase

By fighting it and working against your body you are putting your body into stress mode, and hello #cortisol .
But that’s a chat for another day.

Have a Fit & Healthy Day, and honour who you are no matter what day of your cycle you are in.
